Big Cat Rescue of Tampa Florida

A Sanctuary from Danger or a Dangerous

Sanctuary?

No, this is just a back yard menagerie set up to fraud you of donations.

This website and photo's have been

Officially filed as a complaint to the Eastern office

of the USDA and to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Lets see who listens?

We would like to know WHY are these things overlooked at Big Cat rescue and no where else.

The Animal Welfare Act should apply the same to everyone.

During a tip to Florida March 5th we made a stop by the suppose to be world

famous Big Cat Rescue of Tampa Florida.

Here is what we found, and it wasn't her missing Husband.

First thing we were shocked to learn was all their cages are round, so the animals get to walk in circles all day every day. Causing them to have zoo like mental problems. The second and most shocking thing we learned and this is straight out of our tour guides mouth is they NEVER go in a cage and rake it. WHAT? the entire cage never gets cleaned. THAT'S RIGHT, they showed us a long pole with fire place hooks on the end that they stick through the wires to pull the poop out with. WOW there is holes in the ground where the urine has set for years on end. The entire place was covered in dead leaves, broken wires, rusty cages, sharp edges on all the cages, dirty water bowls, algae growing everywhere, dead pine trees in all cages put there by employees for animal toys, feces that has not been removed in weeks due to the poop pole not reaching it, and Carole Baskin should own stock in hog rings, and tarps as that is what her entire park is held together with. Is this the awesome park that is portrayed on the internet? I think not! It is a run down back yard collection that sucks donations from the public and terrorizes every other zoo in the country so people on the internet send her donations thinking she is helping animals.

See the lady in the back with the poop pole and bucket, that is the only cleaning the cages ever get. None of the dead leaves, falling debris or anything else gets removed from the cages.

Now if I am not mistaking that is a USDA violation not to remove the substrate every so often to prevent disease.

Now here is one for ya. All the cages are round. No poles in the ground anywhere, holding the cages up or from a wind storm rolling them over. Not only that, you see the dead trees laying in the cage, the plastic houses that never get cleaned. (because they never go into a cage to clean it) straight from their own employees mouth. and we will show you just how rusty, worn, wired together most of all the cages are at big cat rescue.

I think this is all in violation with the USDA, or at least with my inspector. Is there a pay off here somewhere?

Only 2 white serval's in the world says our tour guide. Well for something being so rare and being the only place in the world to have 2, you would think that they would have pulled this one off display. Skin and bones, dyeing from lack of what? or what kind of disease we have no idea, but yelling and shaking the cage the thing could not even lift his head.

Now lack of veterinary care? THAT is a USDA violation. Maybe we should have PeTA look into this place.

Sorry about the pictures not being bigger but if you look close you can see the trash, dead trees, cluttering this cage that had bobcats being forced to live in such filth.

Look even closer and you can see it is round, has no ground mounted poles, and the different pieces of wire that has patched holes in it all over the cage, just wired on top of each other.

This is clearly a violation of the USDA animal welfare act.

There is that poop pole again.

sharp dead pine needles hanging everywhere to injure eyes of the animals.

Now this is one of my favorites, Dog house bottoms stacked up as decorations or something. but look close, you can see they are not solid and holds water, bacteria, mosquito larva in between

them and have been there so long its growing moss on the top layer.

Look even closer to the center of the picture and you can see the panels have only been hog ringed together. how safe is a round cage, not ankered to the ground, hog ringed together?

If this is not a USDA violation I will kiss your backside.

Wow! an animal without a leg. In a dirty crappy cage. The house this cat was forced to sleep in was full of filth, had moss growing all over it, and yes, you guessed it. It was forced to hobble in circles to get any exercise.

Another violation of the animal welfare act. Of sanitary housing.

Now lets talk about this for a min.

A tiger, in a round little cage, that never gets cleaned, OH, except for the poop pole. and look at the right side of the picture, the damn thing is hog ringed together and again has no ground in poles to keep it from tipping over.

How would you like to walk in circles your whole life?

Most all  inspectors would say this is not structurally sound for a tiger.

I want you to get a good Idea of what this poor liger lives in. A round cage, that's never cleaned. (thank god for the poop pole) sleeping in a god filthy house which is below ground level, so when it rains and keep in mind this is Florida, this cat has nothing but water to sleep in.

Meet our tour guide. Yep the one in the red. Now she wasn't that bad, we would have enjoyed Carole Baskin herself but got a few points to make here for just a moment.

1- Carole only does tours of 5 or more and than it is $100.00 per person just to be blessed with her presents. so we could

only afford the lady in red.

2- She is an accredited sanctuary which does not exploit their animals. Now lets talk exploit for just a min.

Making $500.00 per tour, letting people photo the animals, putting them on display, being open M-F for tours with special tours on Saturday, renting cottages, and many other money making programs. No if that's not the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is. So all you people go on believing its a sanctuary for the animals. We spent nearly 2 hours there and saw a total of 6 Tigers when her website advertises hundreds. She has other websites set up

Here is her price list

Now if you got any more questions about any other facility doing this for the love of the animals instead of our own pocket book.

ask yourself, is $5.00 per person, $10.00 per person exploiting animals? Think about this real hard......

This site will be updated tomorrow with more pictures and complaints about Big Cat Rescue.

We have hundreds of photos of really dirty, nasty cages, all took on our tour, they will be online very soon.

This is not on exhibit? Really?

This is all this cat has to live on......

This round, dirty, filthy little cage is all this cat has to live in. See the pipe in the ground, That is all he has to sleep in during bad weather, and it is full of poop, dirt, leaves, and holding water.

I can't help but require the USDA to at least help this black Leopard. His cage is small, full of dead sharp pine needles, sticks, and the rock and wire is so full of bacteria from not being of a substance to ever be cleaned.

Here is another USDA violation,

Algae covering the outside and inside of this plastic house for this mountain lion to sleep in.

The house is full of debris and filth that it must fall under Sanitary conditions.

Yes your eyes are seeing what you think they are. This cat is locked in this small cage for hours on end, the cage is so thin, and small, he just about does not have enough room to turn around.

Structurally sound?

this weed filled, nasty cage is only hog ringed together to keep this lion from ever getting out in case of storm.

How often is Florida hit with hurricanes?

Large Lushes cages for the most famous Sanctuary on the planet?

Manager of the Year?

This big tiger does not think so one bit.

Really, the fraud of bigcat rescue has got to be stopped,

keeping big cats in this small of a cage.

Large Lioness?

yep in this little cage which is full of palm bushes. Very little room to live in.

This should start you out on the right frame of mind, If you don't care how the mailboxes look out in front of your park your sure not going to care how the inside looks.

This is not a USDA violation

See the big bald spots on this cat? This is from a poor diet.

This is a violation of the USDA

Our tour guide told us she was NOT receiving vet care

Someone Please help this poor Leopard.

This cage has been there so long

the crap has became part of the structure.

Wild cats running all over the place from jumping the outside fence and walls. None of the cats are vaccinated and are carrying diseases from the shopping center alley next door.

This is a violation of the perimeter fence not keeping animals out to protect the health of the animals in the park.

We put this picture on here just to give you an idea of what a rusty wire cluster this entire place is.

This one I don't see how it passes USDA or just common morals.

This Mountain Lion must stick his head in this hole, with sharp cut wire edges to drink out of this little bowl of water.

Another picture of the wire cluster which makes up Bigcat Rescue.

Except this one has tarps to hide the mess.

Look very close to the center of this picture,

Do you see all the Card board boxes, and trash laying inside this cage? Now remember they only clean what they can with their poop pole.

Another violation of USDA sanitary conditions.

Here is a close up of what this cat must stay in.

Now how does he keep those beautiful ears by sticking his head through that hole to get a drink?

Here is a classic.

A big cat must stick his head in downwards through the sharp edges in this make shift water hole to get a drink.

Would that be a violation of unsafe conditions?

Last picture of the day.

showing you the  rusty cage filled with dead weeds and crap...

If this is not a violation what is?

We demand answers!!!!! We demand to have a new inspector or a supervisor go

first hand to this place and see just what is going on and why it is allowed to continue?
